Chanukah shone bright at Emanu-El Downtown

From glorious toddler giggles to thoughtful shadow puppets to warm community candle lightings, Chanukah

more light into all our worlds.

Some highlights included:

• Friends from years past coming into our space like no time has gone by.

• Toddlers spinning a giant dreidel to a polka version of “I Have a Little Dreidel.”

• Kids jumping, climbing and sliding into a giant ball pit… and no one got hurt!

• Grandparents braving the cold to spend time with their grandchildren and helping to alleviate childcare needs for their kids.

• Religious School Lab watching patiently as fellow learners perform shadow puppetry for Chanukah.

• Caregivers, who come from countries all over the world, learning Hebrew songs and assisting in transmitting our traditions with joy to their charges.

• The Downtown community singing “Seasons of Love” together at a communal candle lighting in Union Square.
