Thanks to the Emanu-El Downtown community we had an epic time celebrating the festival of light. Highlights included:
Prepping for Chanukah together at our Emanu-El Makers Workshop! Families enjoyed pizza and stories while making their own special menorahs.
Dancing the 3rd night of Chanukah away at our Teddy Bear Rave! We lit the menorah, had a party with real dancing teddy bears, and even hora-ed with a giant dreidel! We loved seeing all the amazing dreidels and PLUR (peace, love, unity, respect) Kandi created by the children and even got to share some cuddles with stuffies. We also spread the light and snuggles by raising money for Israel Guide Dog Center's Puppy Love Encounters. This organization connects loving dogs with people in need by visiting hostels, hotels, and hospitals around Israel bringing joy to the children, wounded, and evacuees.
Feasting on pizza and sufganiyot on the 6th night at Dinner with Dana. Toddlers decorated their own spectacular dreidels and joyfully lit the menorah together.
Spinning until we were dizzy at the Religious School Lab’s Great Dreidel Spin Off! In a fierce competition, grades competed against each other for the longest spins and best letters.
Together we created so many special memories, gathering as a community to celebrate Chanukah and the miracle that is Jewish peoplehood!
